When Marcus gave up soccer for dance class, his tippy-toed tendencies were sworn to secrecy by his parents - his queerness was best kept quiet. This Billy-Elliot upbringing in rural Scotland got a Hollywood ending when Marcus became the first Scotsman accepted to The Juilliard School’s prestigious Drama Division. Marcus is an actor and screenwriter who enjoys using his once-bullied limp wrists to tell stories about me and their misunderstandings of masculinity.
A 2023 graduate of the Writing for Screen and Television MFA at the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts, Marcus’ feature screenplays have been recognized by BAFTA/Rocliffe, Humanitas, The Austin Film Festival and ScreenCraft.
